In today’s mental health climate therapists are often the first port of call for clients who have experienced severe psychological trauma. This workshop employs regulation-based psychodrama to provide participants the resources needed to accurately label the impact of vicarious trauma absorbed from therapeutic work, the effects on the person of the therapist, and the steps needed to relieve the therapist. It combines elements of the Therapeutic Spiral Model, modern attachment theory and EMDR as tools for discovering and nourishing roles of transformation that enable us to correct distorted narratives arising from therapeutic work.
